Because We Were Raised That Way.

Dwell Development was founded by brothers Scott Nelson and Bo Bezdek, who quite literally grew up on job sites. Raised in Austin by a builder dad and pilot, they learned early that details matter — both in the sky and on the ground. Whether framing walls or sweeping slabs, they weren’t bystanders; they were building.

With deep roots in the Austin construction world, Bo has been part of some of the city’s most iconic homes — including the Long Estate on Woodlawn Blvd. and The Historic Cromwell Hill Estate. Scott, after a successful career in the AV industry (and like his father, becoming a pilot), began building homes alongside his wife, Jessica Nelson, founder of the award-winning Interior Design Firm, Etch Design Group.

What started as family projects turned into something much more: a seamless partnership between builder and designer. While not technically a “design-build” firm, Dwell and Etch operate like one — a finely tuned, trust-filled process where communication flows effortlessly and expectations are always exceeded.

At Dwell, this isn’t about stacking clients or scaling fast. This is about doing it right — every time. As owners, Scott and Bo are extremely hands-on and you'll find them on-site every single day, leading with care, problem-solving with urgency, and ensuring every detail is as intentional as the one before it. If it’s not “Jessica-approved,” they're on it before anyone asks.
